There are both business and personal benefits of coaching. As a business owner a coach can provide the support and guidance on a number of systems to improve business performance and support a healthy growth strategy. A coach will look at your business objectively and assist in making small changes to achieve big results.

There are also many personal benefits of coaching which my clients don’t always expect. At our recent 90 Day Growth Club, we performed a WIFLE at the end of the day and it was hugely rewarding to hear comments and feedback from clients about their personal growth.

The role of a coach, whether in business, life or sports is to help you be the best you can be.   Starting with your identity, beliefs, values and skills, all of which may need to be improved before looking and behaviour, results and the actions you are taking.  The process becomes a personal journey which happens to lead to improved business results.

It comes back to one of the key principles:

BE X DO = HAVE

It is who you need to BE, in order to be able to Do which will result in what you will HAVE.

Here’s a top 10 list of the benefits of coaching following feedback on our 90 Day Growth Club:

  1. Coaching helps you to realise your full potential and to act on it.
  2. It improves confidence in all areas of your life – not only in business.
  3. Improves team performance – as you learn, so will your team. The benefits of your coaching will trickle through to you team.
  4. Playing above the point of power – you will find yourself taking more responsibility, ownership and being more accountable within the business.
  5. Improved clarity on what you want to achieve personally and as a business – setting goals and objectives which area realistic.
  6. Increased accountability of YOUR actions – whether it is your business partner, team or business coach who hold you accountable.
  7. High levels of commitment from teams – once they see your commitment to your own personal development, the business and your team, they will want to be involved and motivation will increase.
  8. Shared visions, goals and objectives – coaching unites teams and business partners to develop the company culture and buy-in to the vision.
  9. Improved communication and people skills – knowing the different profiles of people and the way some prefer to communicate will massively improve your communication skills and allow you to get the results you need.
  10. Getting your life back into some order – It’s no secret that businesses can take over, especially in early stages and when growing. The other areas of life can then begin to suffer as you lose balance. A vital benefit of coaching is bring this back into a reasonable and acceptable level of balance so that your business is not controlling you, that you are in control of your business, that it is working for you and that you can step away when you need to – such as a holiday!
